Track 1 is focused on commercial development and implementation of small hydropower projects. Currently, LEDCO has completed the study of the Nyadi Hydropower project (NHP), a 20MW, US$32 million scheme. Likewise, LEDCO has completed the study of the 3.8MW Khudi Hydropower project (KHP), which is expected to cost about NRs 500 Million . Construction of KHP has been started in February 2005. Both Khudi and Nyadi Rivers are tributaries of the Marsyangdi River.

Track 2 is focused on development of decentralised and integrated renewable energy technologies. With Track 2, LEDCO is aiming at improving the standard of living of rural communities through the development and sustainable management of energy resources in areas that will not be connected to the national electricity grid network within the next 10 years. The current Track 2 projects include:

• an Improved Cookstove implementation program,
• a pilot micro-hydro plant for 150 households and
• a pilot grid-connected mini-hydro plant.

LEDCO has already completed a Community Based Integrated Energy Planning project, which is described in the past projects section.
